Start with the hike to Lone Pine Lake—about 6 miles round trip, 5 hours total, and approx. 2,000 ft elevation gain. It’s no joke, but totally doable and stunning.

With a permit and good prep, summiting Mt. Whitney is the real deal—nearly 15,000 ft of glory. It’s a long, grueling day hike (or overnight) that rewards you with panoramic views and serious bragging rights.
